This Must Be The Place

 This Must Be The Place is a simple pop-up activity I tried at a Christmas Market and IOM Arts Festival with visitors. To help with the start I have dice with varied town-making elements - buildings, open spaces and infrastructure. Once we have the town started I also motivate people to just come up with their own elements and pieces that they think are missing. Does our perfect place have way too many pubs? Draw a bakery! Does the playground need a bus stop? Draw one.

It is fascinating to see all generations joining in and usually the ones being shy about drawing stay the longest, re-discovering their passion for drawing and colouring.

As a result, we have a perfect collaborative town and knowledge of how people think about town planning and space-making.
